Unequal Flange Bays
R4R SERIES (SEISMIC ZONE 2)
R3R SERIES (SEISMIC ZONE 4)
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
7’ Environment: All 7’ UEF Bay configurations contain a welded steel frame structuralncomponent. The welded frame consists of a 26” or 22” wide x 10” deep base, two 5” deep x 84” high unequal flange uprights and a top channel. There is a 6” high guard box located either on the closed duct side of the uprights (large flange) or the open duct side (small flange). Both flanges of the uprights are drilled and tapped for either 1.75” (1.25 -.50 ctrs) or 2” (1”ctrs) mounting patterns. The floor mounting holes in the base meet the requirements of NEBS GR-63. Standard finishes are Telco Gray, Network Blue or Off-White.
26” wide bays are nominally referred to as 23” bays.
22” wide bays are nominally referred to as 19” bays.
8′, 9′, 10‘ & 11′-6” Environments: The most common method to achieve these taller environments is to utilize a 7′ network bay with an extender. Moreng extenders come in several different heights (12″, 24″, 36″, 54” and 56″). The extender bolts to the top of the network bay and should be supported to the overhead grid. In seismic applications, the extender is designed not to accept equipment. The other option to reach these desired heights is to install a network bay that is made to the specific height.
Foot Print Depths: Rear Guard Rail Kits and Front Guard Box Extensions are added to the welded 10” deep frame for building out to the required footprint depths, which the equipment being mounted requires for protection.
NEBS EARTHQUAKE & VIBRATION CERTIFICATION – (23” BAYS ONLY)
R4R Series Bay: Our 7’ UEF Bays have been tested and certified to NEBS GR-63 Level 2 (seismic zones 0-2) requirements. The bays were tested for an equally distributed equipment load of 500 pounds.
R3R Series Bay: Our 7’ UEF Network Bays have been tested and certified to NEBS GR-63 Level 3 (seismic zones 3 & 4) requirements. The bays were tested for an equally distributed equipment load of 500 pounds.
R7R Series Bay Extenders: Our 7’ Seismic Network Bay Extenders have been tested and certified to NEBS GR-63 Level 3 (seismic zones 3 & 4) requirements. The empty extender with 50# top load was mounted on top of a 7’ R7R bay, which contained an equally distributed equipment load of 520 #s. The bay extender is manufactured so that NO equipment can be mounted in it.
